A Message from the President
Welcome to the website of Vercruysse Murray & Calzone, P.C. We would like to use this opportunity to provide you with a brief introduction to our firm.
In 1996, in response to a growing demand for the efficient and cost effective provision of top-quality labor and employment-related legal services, five nationally renowned labor and employment attorneys from one of Detroit's largest law firms formed the specialized boutique firm, Vercruysse Murray & Calzone, P.C.
Over the last thirteen years our firm has grown to 16 attorneys and we have expanded our practice to include business immigration law, commercial and business torts litigation, and general litigation. The response from our clients has been tremendous as they are able to benefit from the expertise of our attorneys at a substantially reduced cost.
We have also garnered an excellent reputation assisting law firms located across the country with often complex labor and employment issues, such as planning a large reduction in force, class actions, labor negotiations, arbitration, unfair labor practice charges, discrimination suits, wrongful discharge claims, and immigration and I-9 matters. Other attorneys have come to rely on our expertise in federal and state law, including the Family Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, ERISA, Title VII, Title IX, the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, the Persons with Disabilities Civil Rights Act, and the Immigration and Nationality Act.
As we grow, we continue to recruit highly capable and intellectually strong attorneys to carry forward our proud heritage. Our firm includes inductees to the American Bar Association’s College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, members of the American Employment Law Council, past chairpersons of the Labor & Employment Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, fellows of the Michigan State Bar Foundation, and attorneys who are listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA and Michigan Super Lawyers. In addition, our attorneys are frequent contributors to labor and employment treatises and seminars, including Employment Litigation in Michigan (ICLE 2004), of which one of our members is an editor. Our firm also serves as the Editor of the Michigan Employment Law Letter. These professional achievements underscore our attorneys’ expertise and ability that allows us to consistently provide our clients with the advice, services, and results that they expect from the best law firms in the country.
I encourage you to review the other pages of our website to learn more about our services and our attorneys. If we can be of assistance or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or any of our other attorneys.
Robert M. Vercruysse
