Top Lawyers in Metro Detroit

Vercruysse Murray & Calzone shareholders, Robert Vercruysse, Gregory Murray, David Calzone, and Daniel Bernard were recently named to the “Top Lawyers in Metro Detroit” in DBusiness magazine. The Top Lawyers List is complied based on the highest ranking available (AV Preeminent) from Martindale-Hubbell Peer-Review Ratings.

According to the magazine, our honored lawyers possess the highest professional ability and ethical standards. To be considered for the AV Preeminent designation, lawyers must have a minimum of three years in practice, be in good standing in both their professional and personal lives, and anonymously review members admitted to the bar.

Also named to the list’s immigration category, with a BV rating, was Dorothy Hanigan Basmaji.

This is the third time in recent months that Vercruysse Murray & Calzone lawyers were honored with peer recognition. In September, six of the law firm’s lawyers, Vercruysse, Murray, Calzone, Basmaji, Debra Auerbach Clephane, and Susan Hartmus Hiser, were named to the 2009 Super Lawyers list, which recognizes outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Notably, all three of the firm’s founders – Vercruysse, Murray and Calzone – were named to The Top 100 list of lawyers who received the highest points in the 2009 Michigan Super Lawyers nomination, research and blue ribbon process.

Additionally, Vercruysse, Murray, Calzone, Basmaji and Clephane were named to the 2009 edition of The Best Lawyers in America as a result of peer-review surveys. Vercruysse, Murray and Calzone were honored in the Management Labor Lawyers section, while Basmaji and Clephane were honored in the Immigration Law category.
